Thomas Kuurstra
Tom has been with the firm since it commenced in 1995.
He studied law at the University of Western Australia, graduating in 1981.
Tom has practised in family law since his admission as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1982 and exclusively in this area of the law since 1994.
In his many years of work as a family lawyer Tom has gained an enormous experience in all aspects of work which would come within that field, inlcuding:
- Preparation of all forms of application to the Family Court (property, maintenance, residence, contact, injunctions, divorce)
- Representation of clients at interim hearings and trials
- Representation of clients at Family Court negotiation conferences and informally arranged conferences outside the Court system.
Tom has been a member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Practitioners' Association in WA since 1987. He is a past Secretary of the Association and the Convener of its Child Support Sub-Committee, which liaises between the Association and the Child Support Agency.
